Whether you’ve picked up a gorgeous arrangement from one of our pop-ups or crafted your own at a Bunches Floral Collective. workshop, you’ll want to make sure those blooms last as long as possible. With a little love and care, you can extend the life of your flowers and enjoy their beauty for days to come.

Here are some simple (but super effective) tips to keep your flowers looking fresh and fabulous:

1. Trim Those Stems

Before placing your flowers in a vase, give the stems a fresh cut at a 45-degree angle. This helps them drink up water more efficiently. Repeat this every couple of days to keep them hydrated!

2. Use Clean Water & Change It Often

Flowers love fresh, clean water—just like us! Change the water every two days to prevent bacteria buildup, which can make flowers wilt faster.

3. Remove Any Submerged Leaves

Leaves sitting in water can lead to bacteria growth, which shortens the lifespan of your blooms. Remove any leaves that would be underwater to keep your vase fresh and clean.

4. Keep Flowers Cool & Away from Direct Sunlight

While flowers love a little sunshine in nature, direct light and heat can cause them to fade quickly indoors. Keep your arrangement in a cool spot, away from windows, heaters, and appliances.

5. Add a Little Extra Love to the Water

For an extra boost, add a packet of flower food (usually included with bouquets) to the water. No packet? No problem! A teaspoon of sugar and a splash of white vinegar can help nourish the blooms and keep bacteria at bay.

6. Remove Wilting Blooms

As flowers start to fade, remove them from the arrangement to keep the rest looking fresh. This prevents bacteria from spreading and helps the remaining blooms last longer.
